Services at ISD

Evaluation Center

The Evaluation Center at ISD provides assessment services to identify educational and vocational needs. Evaluations are available for young children up through seniors in high school as well as adults referred by Rehabilitation Counselors for the Deaf (RCD). Assessments are available in the areas of school psychology, audiology, and communication skills. Vocational evaluations which identify career interests and abilities are provided to high school juniors, seniors, and adults referred by RCD's. Results of the assessments are used to plan educational and rehabilitation services. Students who are deaf or hard of hearing that attend school in their local school district may be referred to ISD for educational and vocational evaluations. Though there is no charge for the assessments, the family or school is responsible for expenses related to transportation, meals, and lodging if needed.
